Mighty Mouse Nipples

What do you do when they won't scroll down, then you fix it, then it won't scroll up. Then a week later, it starts working both ways - then the next day the stupid thing won't work at all.
Do you write Apple a letter? Or do you just buy another mouse (without the fickle nipples).
It's bad design. It seems dirt gets in there, the only way I can figure out how to make it work again is to push down real hard on it and scroll in multiple directions - usually works for a couple days after that.
I just use a $30 bluetooth logitech that I've had for a few years. I have never found Apple's mice to be comfortable anyway.
